What is the Sapin 2 law?

The law on transparency, the fight against corruption and the modernisation of economic life, also known as Sapin 2, is a law that aims to combat corruption, but which has been enriched with various measures to address a large number of other issues.

The three main thrusts of the law:

  • Introducing more transparency in the process of public decision-making and in economic life.

  • Fighting corruption more effectively, particularly at the international level, with preventive and repressive components.

  • Modernize economic life while ensuring the protection of savers and investors.
