The fight against money laundering and terrorist financing is a priority for the European Union. It is constantly strengthening its legislation to adapt to new threats. The Member States have undertaken a vast harmonisation project to strengthen their means of action.
In addition to the financial sector, more and more organisations are concerned and exposed to the risk of money laundering and terrorist financing. They are subject to increasingly stringent provisions to combat terrorist financing in particular.
