The GDPR

Remember what it was like a few decades ago: there was little digital data! Paper bank statements, photos in albums, music in walkmans...

And look at us today...

The digital revolution has turned our lives upside down! Billions and billions of personal and intimate data are generated every day! Social networks, online services, connected objects, cloud...

A far-reaching adaptation of our data protection regulations was necessary, as they were put in place when the Internet was still in its infancy.

In 2012, therefore, Europe is launching a huge renovation of the legislative framework, and after four years of work, in 2016, the GDPR is definitively adopted.

It has been directly applicable since May 2018.

Results :

In concrete terms, this means new rules to be adopted as soon as possible for all European companies and organisations, or those with customers in the EU.

Rules, and this is new, that also apply to subcontractors.

Compliance with the European Regulation is compulsory but also necessary to avoid possible sanctions, the increase in which is particularly dissuasive: up to 20 million euros or 4% of worldwide turnover!

But the GDPR, by adapting to new uses, is also a source of tremendous opportunities! More protection means more confidence. More freedom of daring for customers, more freedom of enterprise for companies!
